ELEMENTARY

Our elementary students, beginning in our full-day Kindergarten develop strong phonetic skills in their pursuit of fluent reading skills and comprehension. Although the days are filled with academic rigor, each class finds time for fun and social interaction in class, at recess, lunch and during specials classes. ABEKA curriculum is used exclusively in these grades.

Students have the option of purchasing a hot lunch or salad or may bring a lunch from home. Each day all elementary students are given recesses to promote physical activity and to strengthen social skills in a non-structured environment.

All elementary students are also assigned a different daily specials class that is rotated between Art, Music, Spanish, Library and Physical Education.

All elementary students are annually tested using the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT). Our students regularly average scored 1 to 1 1/2 grades above the national average.

Our upper elementary classes take part in the traditional subjects such as Math, Language, History and Science, but also develop skills in Computer, Bible and a variety of specials classes. Elementary students will exercise different learning activities including presentations, reports, projects, teamwork and independent learning activities.

An objective of these age groups is to prepare the student for the rigors of junior high academics and the opportunities for social and athletic participation. This is accomplished by introducing students to athletics, fine arts and expanded academic requirements.
